It Never Gets Lighter
Had a thought at the gym tonight. I was bench pressing, working up to 245×5, which I’d honestly been dreading all week. Last week 225 felt sluggish and I wasn’t sure 245 was even going to come up. But while I was warming up, I noticed something. Even though my max is substantially more, 225 doesn’t feel easy. It just feels like 225. Same with 135. I can rep that out forever, but it never floats off my chest. It feels like 135. It always feels like 135. ...
